What is Resiliency?

Interior Architecture + Design undergraduate program
This course examines the development and impact of resiliency as it relates to a community’s ability to predict, react and adapt to unanticipated factors.  Students gain factual knowledge about the strategies and tools required for implementing resiliency with a focus on historical built environments and business continuity planning.  Students analyze and observe various resilient approaches used across the globe and explore these important cultural and geographical differences through international travel.

For the spring 2016 semester we are focusing on Boston and Barcelona.  Mount Ida College is located in Newton MA and travel to Barcelona will occur in May 2016.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of taking a day trip to Girona and Figueres. While in Figueres we visited the Dali Theatre Museum. Not only is his work amazing, but he creates art pieces that can be viewed in many different perspectives. The research done prior to the trip prepared us and gave us things to expect, but it was way beyond our expectations! We had an awesome tour guide who provided us with unbelievable amounts of information all day and really seemed intrigued by Salvador Dalí.

Overall it was an amazing day trip and even though we're exhausted we just keep going and explore everything we can! The museum was worth the long bus rides and we left with some amazing photos and memories we'll hold for a lifetime!
